The LBC Autumn 2006 Pick

The LBC members have unveiled their latest selection. It's a great little book about a literary rat.

Comments:

This sounds like an interesting read in terms of how it explores the meaning of reading as a solution to isolationism.

I think the choice of a rat as the main protagonist is interesting; the author clearly would have chosen a different animal if Robert Sullivan's 'Rats' hadn't, a few years ago, re-set the rodent PR and entrenched it more firmly in the literary public mind.

Ah, yes. Perhaps we are only now on the cusp of a great age of rat literature.
